Carport Conversion to Living Space with Masonry and Window Upgrade

This major exterior remodel converted a dated carport into livable square footage, giving this ranch-style brick home a functional layout update and fresh curb appeal.

Before, the home had an open concrete carport and a small concrete stoop. While practical for covered parking, it lacked usable living space and left the home feeling dated and underutilized from the street view.

During, the carport was fully demoed, framed, insulated, and enclosed to create a new finished room addition. High-efficiency black-framed windows were installed to flood the interior with light, and the original brick façade was carefully matched and extended to blend the new exterior seamlessly with the existing home. Temporary protection measures, new framing, and sheathing were carefully coordinated to maintain structural integrity throughout the build.

After, the result is a bold yet cohesive addition that feels original to the home. The new room increases functionality and square footage, while the improved entry steps, windows, and brickwork bring balance and depth to the front elevation.
